The Lion King at Minskoff Theatre

The Lion King shares the life of the little lion cub Simba, who before long is forced to accept his destiny of succeeding as the leader of the Pride Lands due to the tragedy that befalls his father, Mufasa. Mufasa, who is a supported King by the animals of his lands, gets stabbed in the back by from Scar, Simba’s uncle, which ends in his murder. This forces the young prince into into hiding for a long period of time, and jumpstarts the Prince's personal change and his subsequent homecoming to The Pride Lands and his destined rule as King.

Inspired by the previous 1994 motion picture of the the very same title created by Disney, The Lion King musical was beautifully adapted to the theater stage by director Julie Taymor and the spectacular cast and creative team. Its launch in 1997 was a testament to its success, being a multi-awarded debut. The stage adaptation was also met with the best posts from audiences. The upcoming October’s run of The Lion King will be found in Minskoff Theatre at New York on Saturday 26th October 2024.
